I predict it’s going to be a belter of a weekend weatherwise though, if these lads are to be believed, it might not be time just yet for packing away the winter woollies. Hopefully the unseasonably charitable weather we’ve been enjoying these last few days will mean that a nice dry sod will be sitting atop the stony grey soil in Inniskeen on Sunday.
Okay, prediction time again for this weekend’s final full round of NFL matches. This means that this week is the last one for the Setanta competition and so the final chance for you to claim entry to the grand prize draw for a year’s sub via satellite to Setanta Sports. It’s also last chance saloon to claim the juicy weekly winner’s prize of a copy of Over The Bar. Because it’s the final rounds of matches, they’re all throwing in at the same time on Sunday afternoon, which means there’s no match on Setanta tomorrow night. Never mind – let’s use our match with Monaghan for prediction purposes this weekend, with the Galway/Dublin one as the tie-breaker. As usual, if you want to enter just whack me an email with your predicted score in both matches.
It’s almost the end of the line on the mini-league as well, but there will still be another round for the Division One and Two finals. Anyone planning a last-minute dash for the line, though, should note that in previous years this final round has never made any material difference to the overall outcome. In other words, if you’ve got any pouncing to do, do it this weekend. You might find RTÉ’s previews and/or Paddy Power’s odds to be of help in this regard (maybe not for pouncing but possibly for prediction purposes).
Still no team news for Sunday, by the way, but going on when the team has been announced for the last few games, that’s no surprise. I predict it could be released later on today but, then again, it could be tomorrow.
