The club Championships are back on this weekend, with the final round of group matches taking place in the Senior, Intermediate and Junior football championships.
Everything is on the line in Round 3, with play-off places up for grabs and, at the other end of the spectrum, relegation play-offs to be avoided. It’s set, then, to be a tense weekend for many clubs, with so many of them hoping for the best while at the same time fearing the worst.
These are the games – all being played at neutral venues – where strong support would be of great help to all the teams in action. But the recently announced Covid-19 restrictions, forcing all sporting events to take place behind closed doors, mean that fans can’t shout for their clubs and must instead follow the action from the outside.
Mayo GAA TV – more on that below – will be doing their bit to help by streaming four live matches this weekend and at least one other game I know of will be streamed live over YouTube. I’ll get back to this shortly.
First, here are the full list of Round 3 fixtures in the three Championships this weekend.
Senior:

Intermediate:

Junior:

Mayo GAA TV are streaming two matches live on Saturday and another two on Sunday. On Saturday the featured games are the Group 4 Castlebar Mitchels v Westport clash from Breaffy at 5pm, followed by the Group 3 Knockmore v Ballina Stephenites meeting from Crossmolina at 7pm. Match passes for each of these games cost €5 and you can buy them here.
On Sunday the two featured games are both being streamed from Ballina. First up is the IFC Group 1 clash between Kiltimagh and Bonniconlon (1pm) and that’s followed by the SFC Group 1 match between Belmullet and Garrymore (4pm). Match passes for these two games, again priced at €5 each, are available to purchase here.
In addition, Charlestown Sarsfields announced today that their SFC Group 4 showdown with Breaffy at Claremorris on Saturday evening (5pm) will be streamed live over YouTube. I don’t have the link for that yet but on the assumption that I’ll be able to grab the embed code for the event I should be able to stick that stream up here on the blog as a live event.
If I hear of any other live streams for matches over the weekend I’ll post details here as well. Similarly, if anyone else else has information about coverage of matches this weekend please feel free to post this information in the comments. Whatever about the national response to Covid, where it comes to getting to matches right now we really are in it together.
Has anyone been able to cast mayo tv to there tv. I’ve watched a few games on it and it would be great on tv instead of the phone/tablet. Also I presume the draws for the quarter finals and relegation will be Sunday evening or Monday.
We have a look at all Senior, Intermediate & Junior games in this weeks podcast. Also other matters of interest in relation to the games

Fair play Ah Ref ..
@Ah Ref, Surely Westport or Breaffy are showing better form than Ballaghadereen?
Blondie11 Yes should be able chromecast or if have smart tv screen share does it
Mayo GAA have announced that those Mayo GAA TV matches this weekend are free to view for Cairde Mhaigheo ticket holders. Details on how to get your free pass to watch them are here: https://mayogaa.com/news-detail/10065721/.
@JP there’s a lot of factors that come into the power rankings. Ballagh haven’t lost, last years finalists and overall squad depth have them at the top for me. Interesting tie the weekend with Ballina and Knockmore as the loser of this will more than likely will lose their spot on the top table. Tubber were number one before a ball was kicked and lost out after the poor performance after aghamore but nudged back in due to the big win vs Moy davitts. Its only a different take and a conversation starter but it has been very popular on other forums. Great action this weekend but it has to be said that the county board have been excellent in their response from the like of redcol on the podcast on looking at looking after cairde plus. It a very positive outcome for all loyal members and one that won’t be forgotten about from the vast majority of members.
Hi gizmobobs, sorry to bother you but I have been unable to cast it from mayotv either. I have a chromecast that works for Netflix/YouTube… but I can’t see the option to do this on the Mayotv web page.. Is there something I’m missing?
@Mayomagic2000 If the device you are using uses Android there’ll be some kind of stream to tv option on the device. Likely an option Screen sharing. Could be Smart view. Bluetooth would have to be enabled.
If you’re in the Apple world and have an Apple TV device you can mirror the stream from your laptop onto the TV. That’s the way we do it in this house and it works fine.
Just for the sake of making contact – the posts over the last few weeks epitomise the blog. thanks so much much for keeping the blog going WJ et al
@mayomagic2000 don’t worry about website if android. Play away on phone and if screen share logo not on the main screen drag down top of the phone so you get all menu options like wifi Bluetooth etc. Look through them and screenshare or mirror or smart view should be option. Tap that and should try connect to smart tv
Connect tablet to tv via HDMI cable
Doesn’t have to be smart TV
Go to mayogaatv on laptop.
Use function key on laptop to share image between two screens. Maximise on laptop.
Use function key again to view on remote screen only. Image takes full size of tv. Enjoy
