Seven changes in women’s team to face Cork

The Mayo team has been named for Sunday’s LGFA NFL Division One clash with Cork at Cloughduv Hurling Grounds (throw-in 2pm). Here it is:

Mayo (LGFA NFL Division One v Cork, 23/2/2020): Aisling Tarpey (Foxrock/Cabinteely); Nicola O’Malley (Westport), Noirin Moran (Westport), Saoirse Lally (Westport); Kathryn Sullivan (Castlebar Mitchels), Ciara McManamon (Burrishoole), Clodagh McManamon (Burrishoole); Roisin Durkin (Hollymount), Sinead Cafferkey (Kilmovee Shamrocks, captain); Maria Cannon (Burrishoole), Fiona Doherty (Bohola Moy Davitts), Rachel Kearns (CL MacHale Rovers); Ella Brennan (Charlestown), Natasha Gaughan (Bohola Moy Davitts), Mary McHale (Kilmoremoy).

No more than the lads, this spring has seen considerable switching and shifting in the women’s team selections from one game to the next. Sunday’s match is no exception, with seven changes from the team that took the field to face Waterford last time out.

Into the team for Sunday come Saoirse Lally, Clodagh McManamon, Roisin Durkin, Maria Cannon, Ella Brenna, Natasha Gaughan and Mary McHale. Out go Danielle Caldwell, Ciara Whyte, Alannah Duffy, Maria Reilly, Lisa Cafferkey, Jennifer Cawley and Amy Halligan.
