Arising from the fixture scheduling for next weekend’s hurling League quarter-finals, details of which were announced earlier on this afternoon, our big ball clash with Cork at Páirc Uí Rinn on Sunday has now been moved forward from 3pm to 2pm. The Rebels’ hurling clash against Wexford throws in at the same venue at 4pm.

The last time we played Cork down at their gaff – with that match taking place at Páirc Uí Chaoimh back in April 2013 –  we hilariously outnumbered them by around 4:1. With two teams to shout for on this occasion, the home side should manage to muster a more decent following on Sunday, though it remains to be seen how early the hurling cognoscenti will deign to grace Páirc Uí Rinn with their presence then. Hopefully, we’ll have our business done and the points in the bag before the bulk of them show up.

To add to the fun from a scheduling point of view, don’t forget that the clocks go forward on Saturday night so you’ll need to factor that into your timing as well in terms of getting to Leeside in good time to catch the action the following day.

  1. Anyone need accommodation for Sat night. I have an apartment booked that sleeps 6 but no longer need it. Its in Cork City.

  2. I am not travelling on Sunday as I have a family committment. However I would advise you to arrive early and park . I have used the streets off the Blackrock road.

  3. From checking road / street maps Pairc Ui Rinn is a little over half a mile from Pairc Ui Caoimh and is in an urban area. There is nothing on the Pairc Ui Rinn website to indicate that there are any parking facilities other than normal the street side. It seems as easily accessible from Cork city centre or via the Jack Lynch tunnel. Some websites recommend access from city centre and some via the tunnel.
