Tales of two weekend defeats

Two disheartening losses over the weekend and here, for the record, are the match reports on them.

The U21s didn’t get too much coverage on their first round exit from the U21 championship.  Here are the match reports from the Mayo Advertiser, the Mayo News and Hogan Stand.  That’s all I can find on what won’t, I guess, go down as one of our most memorable championship campaigns at this level.

There are several match reports on yesterday’s league defeat to Armagh so you can take your pick from the Mayo Advertiser, Irish Times, Irish Independent, Irish Examiner, Belfast Telegraph, RTÉ (which includes Brian Carthy’s audio report), BBC, Setanta or Hogan Stand. They all say we lost unfortunately. Colm Gannon also has a windswept post-match audio piece with James Horan.

But it’s not all doom and gloom – the hurlers won again yesterday to maintain their 100% record in Division 3B of the NHL.  Here’s the Indo’s brief report on yesterday’s one-point win over Louth.

  1. I think Austin O Malley made his Wicklow début yesterday. Not a bad free taker in his day!
