TBC now 9th August again but minors still playing on Monday

The GAA website is now showing once more (as it had been doing up till yesterday) that our quarter-final against either Limerick or Meath will take place at Croke Park at 2 pm on Sunday 9th August.  Hogan Stand is saying that it’ll be the meat in the sandwich between the hurling minor semi-final (which will get underway at midday) and the senior semi-final between Kilkenny and Waterford which is set to throw-in at 4 pm.  So, there you have it.

No change to the minors, though: they’re still down to play their quarter-final with Tipp at 3 pm next Monday, while the rest of the country will be glued to the box salivating on the 2009 equivalent of the Apollo 11 moon landing.

I see there are rumours flying around about an injury to Barry Moran, with a claim on the Hogan Stand discussion board that he’s broken his wrist.  I understand that the injury may not be as serious as this but that he could be a doubt for the quarter-final.  We’ll have to wait for an official announcement, though, to get the full story on it.

  1. Right lads, Help needed here, I want the goalie Jersey , the mother saw it in ballina in XL but no other size , it wasnt to be found in Galway either, anyone know if it is in Castlebar or Westport?
    Muchas Gracias Amigos.

  2. I would have thought that playing our moinr game as the undercard to the Limerick Meath game in Portlaoise would have been a good idea. It would have required the minors to play again within 6 days ( 🙁 ) but then the Mayo supporters could have stayed on to sus out the next senior opponents ( 🙂 ).

But maybe that was a bit too logical!!!!
