As Remember51 has just said in the comments, the team to play IT Sligo in the FBD League at Ballina this afternoon (throw-in 2pm) has been named. It’s pretty much all change from last Sunday and the details are as follows:
Mayo (FBD League v IT Sligo, 11/1/2015): David Clarke (Ballina Stephenites); Kevin Keane (Westport), Donal Vaughan (Ballinrobe), Steven Duffy (Crossmolina Deel Rovers); Michael Hall (Breaffy), Keith Rogers (Ballaghaderreen), Patrick Durcan (Castlebar Mitchels); Gavin Duffy (Salthill/Knocknacarra), Barry Moran (Castlebar Mitchels); Kevin McLoughlin (Knockmore), Morgan Lyons (Ballyhaunis), Peter Dravins (Breaffy); Evan Regan (Ballina Stephenites), Alan Freeman (Aghamore), Mickey Sweeney (Kiltane). Subs: Robbie Hennelly (Breaffy), Darren McHugh (Hollymount/Carramore), Chris Barrett (Belmullet), Jason Gibbons (Ballintubber), Alex Corduff (Ballina Stephenites), Jason Doherty (Burrishoole), Mark Ronaldson (Shrule/Glencorrib), Diarmuid O’Connor (Ballintubber).
Plenty of new faces again, with senior inter-county debuts being handed to Steven Duffy, Michael Hall, Patrick Durcan, Morgan Lyons, Peter Dravins and, if I’m not mistaken, Gavin Duffy as well. His inclusion in the starting fifteen and Donal Vaughan’s positioning at full-back are both of interest. It’s great too to see David Clarke back in the team after his long injury lay-off.
I’m not sure, by the way, what the story will be as regards getting a match report on the game up on the site later on. Mike Kelly has said he might not make it to Ballina and I’m going to be gallivanting round the place up here today and into the evening so it might just be a case of throwing something together rapidly before sitting down to watch Charlie on TV later on.
