Team to play Meath named

We’ve named our team for Saturday’s LGFA NFL Division One semi-final against All-Ireland champions Meath at St Tiernach’s Park in Clones (throw-in 3pm). Here it is:

Mayo (LGFA NFL Division One semi-final v Meath, 19/3/2022): Aisling Tarpey (Foxrock Cabinteely); Éilis Ronayne (Davitts), Roisín Flynn (Knockmore), Danielle Caldwell (Castlebar Mitchels); Ciara Needham (Louisburgh), Fiona McHale (Carnacon), Kathryn Sullivan (Castlebar Mitchels, captain); Sinéad Cafferky (Kilmovee Shamrocks), Aoife Geraghty (Westport); Shauna Howley (Knockmore), Sinéad Walsh (MacHale Rovers), Sarah Mulvihill (Knockmore); Lisa Cafferky (Kilmovee Shamrocks), Ciara Whyte (Kilmoremoy), Hannah Reape (Knockmore).

The team we’ve named for Saturday’s semi-final shows two changes from the one that lined out against Donegal the last day. In come Aisling Tarpey in goals and Éilis Ronayne at corner-back while out go Laura Brennan and Saoirse Lally.

The best of luck to the team on Saturday.

By the way, club members on Patreon can listen to our LGFA NFL semi-final preview episode of the podcast, in which Mike chats with former Mayo ladies coach and selector, John Stagg. That episode went online a bit earlier this evening. Join the club here.

  1. A big test for our girls up against the AL champions, Mayo have been impressive so far but this match will give a good indication of what level we’re at. Wishing them the best of luck.

  2. Great challenge for our women. Wish them the very best of luck. We’ve been doing really well so far and this is a good game to sense where we’re at. Best of luck Mayo. Maigheo abú

  3. What ever happened to the McManaman girl from last year. She was a great player. Injured?
