Daire has been on to request a plug, which I’m more than happy to provide, for the cracking pre-Connacht final event that Club Mayo Dublin and Roscommon GAA have jointly organised for this coming Wednesday (July 13th) in the Hilton Hotel on Charlemont Place (which is located across the road from that noted watering hole, The Barge). What they’ve done is put together arrangements for a table quiz involving participants from both counties – full details on which are available here.
Tables (of four) for the event are priced at €40 and all proceeds raised on the night will be shared and will go directly to the respective teams’ training funds. There will also be an opportunity on the night for Dublin-based supporters, if they haven’t already done so, to sort out their tickets for tomorrow week’s provincial decider.
Throw-in for the table quiz is 8 pm on the 13th and the organisers are encouraging everyone to turn up in their county colours for what could, one senses, turn out to be quite a raucous evening. Sure, if it weren’t for all this beer and pizza I have to get through over here, I’d be there in a shot myself.
Galway ran Meath close and should have got a draw at the end when they went for goal instead of taking their point. That has to be encouraging from a Mayo point of view.
a good qualifier draw for the losers of us and the rossies, the wicklow armagh draw means that the game will have to be put out by a week so the losers have 13 days to prepare. Thats doable.
If we lose we will probably be facing Tyrone. Tough, but no easy games I suppose.
