The weekend’s matches

The weekend is fast approaching and, with it, two League matches involving Mayo. Both are on Saturday, both are home fixtures and both will be broadcast live on TV.

Here’s a quick update on match details and ticketing for these two games.

The women take the field first, the field in question being the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence. Their Round 2 match against Kerry in the LGFA NFL Division One throws in there at 12.45pm.

This match is being shown live on TG4. Tickets for it are available to purchase here.

Later that evening over at MacHale Park in Castlebar it’s the turn of the lads. They face neighbours Galway in the opening round of the National League and this Division One clash throws in at 7.30pm. Joe McQuillan of Cavan is the ref for it.

This one is live on RTÉ2. Season tickets holders will already have got a mail telling them to download their tickets (which I still haven’t done myself). If you need to purchase tickets for the game, the link for that is here.

  1. Anyone have a guess at the team for Saturday. 2 lollipops for the winner. Hennelly
    Coyne
    Brickenden
    Callinan
    Durcan
    Loftus
    Coen
    Ruane
    Diarmaid
    Flynn
    Mcstay
    Walsh
    Orme
    Cillian
    Ryan
That’s my guess but who knows

  2. I’d say you could be taking the lollipops yourself No doubt because that looks spot on to me.

Though I’d prefer much more experimenting in the forwards myself.

  3. Good stab No Doubt. I’ll make a stab…

    Reape
    Coyne
    McBrien
    Hession
    McHugh
    Loftus

    Carr
    Cillian

    I’ll probably be miles off

  4. Instead of a drinks ban this year, McStay should impose a media/social media etc ban on all of the panel and management, let the PRO deal with all press questions Not a word from anyone till Sam has crossed the Shannon.

  5. Agreed Culmore. We were far too open with the media under Horan, getting regular updates of who’s on the panel, injury situation etc.

A media ban will fix all our troubles.

  6. @mayofocus. Shame on me i forgot hession but left out mcbrien going on injury reports and could see carney slotting into no 11 on my team.

  7. I’m not sure if Loftus will play 6 this weekend but I might be reading too much into Coen playing there against the same opposition in the FBD

  8. Not at all No Doubt, I suppose we won’t know until a few mins before kick off.
Dare I say it, but we may have a decent squad shaping up after all ?

  9. My guess at a team ( based purely on guesswork re iniuries/recovery).
I’m not crazy about coen at fb but think mcstay will try to have 1 experienced guy in each line
