The weekend’s matches

Christmas is fast approaching but this coming weekend there are two huge club Championship matches taking place involving teams from the county. There’s also another county final on back in Castlebar. Here are all the details of these matches.

Let’s start with the biggest game of the weekend from the county’s perspective. They don’t come bigger than an All-Ireland final and that’s what the women footballers of Claremorris are contesting on Sunday afternoon. They’re taking on Cork’s O’Donovan Rossa in the LGFA All-Ireland Junior club final, a match that takes place on Sunday at Parnell Park up here in Dublin where throw-in is 2pm .

The link for tickets is here but if you want to watch it online there’ll be live streams available from the LGFA on Facebook (here) and on YouTube (here). I’ll embed the YouTube stream here on the blog as well to make it easier for anyone who’s interested in watching this title decider.

Saturday, meanwhile, is a big day for Tooreen. They’re taking on Castlelyons of Cork in the All-Ireland Intermediate club hurling Championship semi-final, a match that takes place at O’Connor Park, Tullamore, where throw-in is 1.30pm that afternoon.

The link for tickets for this game is here. TG4 will be streaming the match live on their YouTube channel (here) and so, like the Claremorris LGFA match on Sunday, I’ll embed it here on the blog as well so you’ll be able to follow it live from here if you want.

Back on home soil on Sunday the U21B Championship decider takes place. This county final will be contested by Crossmolina Deel Rovers and Mayo Gaels and it throws in at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park at midday on Sunday. The link for tickets for that one is here.

  1. Thanks WJ .
Very best of luck to Claremorris .
Great achievement and testament to the work that’s going into their and other clubs underage structures

  2. Best of luck to Claremorris at the weekend, we could do with winning an All-Ireland title at this stage.

  3. Well Willie Joe, thought Claremorris were excellent in the u21 final. A lot of young talent on show. Certainly few lads Mcstay would be interested in. Probably a better overall team than Mitchels.

  4. On a slightly separate note.
Good to see JPs donation will be split between, gaa, camogie and ladies football.

  5. In fairness to Bob Touhy Anthony , that was his first game in 10weeks after injury. Your right he wasn’t very influential but has had a very good season for the castlebar seniors. Wouldn’t like to judge a.lad on one game. He also plucked one outta.the sky with 2 mins to go and a point between them , when possession was everything.

  6. Good luck to Claremorris ladies and Tooreen hurlers. Two wins would be a lovely early Christmas present.

  7. I believe Crossmolina GAA will be audio streaming the game on their Facebook page. Think I’ll go to early mass and head for Crossmolina. Should be a proper game.
