A few initiatives from Mayo GAA are worth a mention, not least in light of our appearance, once again, in an All-Ireland semi-final this year.
The first is a project entitled Laochra Mhaigh Eo that seeks to honour teams that have represented the county with distinction down the years. This will be done via a celebration wall at MacHale Park on which will be installed ceramic tiles featuring personalised engraved messages.
Supporters are being offered the opportunity of buying individual tiles, on which will be engraved their own personalised messages and which will be installed on the wall in March next year. More details on this, including how to buy a commemorative tile, are here.
This initiative aims to raise funds for the resurfacing of the pitch at MacHale Park, a job that really needs to be done at this stage.
Separately, Mayo GAA have also announced that there are a number of sponsorship opportunities available for next year. More information on that is here.
Finally, with an eye to next Sunday’s All-Ireland semi-final, in the Mayo GAA Lotto draw this coming week there’s a draw for a Mayo jersey signed by the whole squad, with an opportunity to win the €8,100 jackpot as well. You can play the Lotto here.
