This is just a quick one to confirm two club championship results from matches played today involving clubs from the county. Both were winning performances too.
First up it’s Tooreen who began their Connacht Intermediate hurling championship campaign this afternoon at Athleague with a win over Four Roads of Roscommon. As the photo above confirms, Tooreen came out on top in this one by 0-29 to 0-19.
Over in Manchester, meanwhile, MacHale Rovers were in action today against local side Óisín in the LGFA All-Ireland JFC quarter-final. The visitors were on top right from the start in this game and they won out by a convincing margin of 6-8 to 1-9 at the finish.
Well done to both Mayo clubs on their respective victories today.
29 points in a 60 min match is some scoring rate and they left a few behind. Regaining the Connaught title is the minimum standard for this team. Next up the London champions next Sunday.
Fergal Boland was named MOTM. A wonderful dual player.
