Unchanged team named for Minor final

A short time ago we named our team and subs for this evening’s All-Ireland Minor football final against Galway, which takes place at Dr Hyde Park, Roscommon, where throw-in is 7.15pm:

Here’s our match day panel for this evening’s all-Connacht Championship decider.

Mayo (All-Ireland Minor football final v Galway, 8/7/2022): David Dolan (Balla); Rio Mortimer (Claremorris), John MacGonagle (Castlebar Mitchels), Lorcan Silke (Westport); Liam Maloney (Cill Chomain), Colm McHale (Bohola Moy Davitts), Paul Gilmore (Claremorris); Jack Keane (Hollymount/Carramore), Luke Feeney (Ballina Stephenites); James Maheady (Crossmolina Deel Rovers), Dara Hurley (Claremorris), Diarmuid Duffy (Ballinrobe); Cathal Keaveney (Parke/Keelogue/Crimlin), Ronan Clarke (Bohola Moy Davitts), Niall Hurley (Claremorris). Substitutes: Conor Meaney (Westport), John Finn (Mayo Gaels), Conor Kelly (Kilmeena), Oliver Armstrong (Knockmore), Dylan Gallagher (Davitts), Zac Collins (Islandeady), Adam Boukioud (Bohola Moy Davitts), Oisín Cronin (Balla), Seán O’Dowd (Kilmodee Shamrocks).

As I mentioned on the final preview pod the other day, this is a remarkably settled team and the starting fifteen we’ve named for this evening’s final is unchanged for the fourth match in a row. Indeed, most of the team have started all seven matches – all won – on the way to this Tom Markham Cup decider.

The best of luck to Seán Deane and the lads this evening. The whole county is behind you.

  1. Best of luck to lads, they have been brilliant and I have no doubt they are the best minor team in the country, just need to hammer that home this eve. It’s a final, it’s Mayo!!, but I think these lads will do it, and give us renewed hope for the future.

  2. Best of luck to our young lads. It is,as you say WJ, a remarkably settled team. They’re a super group of talented players. Let’s hope they go out this evening and enjoy their football, that’ll win it for them!!
Thanks Soprano…you hit all the right notes there. Come on Mayo. We’re all behind you…win or lose, you’ve done yourselves proud. Hope you get what you have worked hard for. Maigheo abú.

  3. On a different topic – there is a great interview with Lee Keegan on Off The Ball. Mabye Willie Joe or someone else cound provide the link. Well worth a listen.
Reading between the lines I’d say once the body holds up over he winter he will be back playing again next year.

  4. Really looking forward to this. There’s an eternity of memories to be made this evening. Up Mayo!!

  5. Good luck to the Mayo team this evening
